Our Philosophy
Crucible was built by someone who spent years managing freight from the ground up. Time on the operations side teaches you the difference between a fleet with a full EDI team and a five-truck operation running off a laptop and a cell phone.
Both deserve the same shot at new business. When your fleet is on the Crucible network, the shippers, manufacturers and 3PLs who use Crucible can follow your freight without calling for a status, and when one of their loads needs a different carrier, your rates can be part of the comparison. Getting there doesn't take an in-house IT team or an enterprise contract.
Big fleet or small, it's one more way for shippers to find you.
Why Partner
Once integrated, your fleet's real-time status is visible directly inside Crucible for every shipper and 3PL we work with, local e-commerce operations included. No separate portal, no manual status calls, no closed door.
When a shipment is in trouble and Optimus looks for another carrier, it can only quote carriers on the Crucible network. A carrier that isn't connected never makes it into the comparison.
We build and maintain the adapter on our side. There's no integration fee and no exclusivity requirement. You keep every other lane and relationship you already have.
The Process

Send us your API docs, EDI specs or tracking portal credentials. Whatever you already have is enough to start — we don't require a purpose-built integration on your end.
Our engineering team builds and tests a dedicated adapter against your systems. This is the same process we've run for every carrier already live in Crucible.
We run live shipments through the adapter with you before it touches client data, confirming tracking events, ETAs and status codes map correctly.
Your fleet's shipments become visible in Crucible in real time, and you're in the pool Optimus draws from for reroutes and carrier changes.

Plenty of good carriers report shipment status as X12 214 files and nothing else. Our EDI Translator reads those files and turns each one into clean shipment data: current status, every event with its time and location, the delivery appointment, and the reason behind any delay. It also reads the 204 load tenders shippers send you, 856 ship notices, and the billing documents that follow a shipment: 211 bills of lading, 210 freight invoices and 820 remittance advices. For manufacturers and their suppliers it also reads 830 planning schedules and 862 shipping schedules. Anyone can try EDI Inspector Lite, the free version, in the browser with no account. For carriers and logistics providers on the Crucible network it's free through the API too, and it's often the fastest way into Crucible.

We process each file and keep only a fingerprint and its size for support. A carrier key can only update shipments under its own SCAC.
Cloud EDI services commonly charge $50 to $250 a month for each trading-partner connection, plus setup fees. For carriers and logistics providers on the Crucible network, translation is free.
